One Type of Wood - One Thousand Possibilities

Beech is a multi-talent. From toys to wardrobes, from colouring pencils to interior decoration - the ways in which beech wood can be used are almost without number. Whether woodworker, designer or architect, anybody who has handled this raw material once, immediately appreciates its qualities. Versatile beech can be employed in many different ways without losing its character. Symbolically speaking, it is the chameleon of hardwoods.

That is why Pollmeier Massivholz GmbH & Co. KG had announced the International Beech Design Award. Starting in December of 2007, woodworkers, designers and architects were invited to participate in the competition and enter their projects and products made of beechwood. Only a few months into the competition, numerous entries from all over the world showed that there are hardly any limits to the possible uses of beechwood. The evaluation was carried out by the visitors to the website themselves.
