One Type of Wood - One Thousand Possibilities

Beech is a multi-talent. From toys to wardrobes, from colouring pencils to interior decoration - the ways in which beech wood can be used are almost without number. Whether woodworker, designer or architect, anybody who has handled this raw material once, immediately appreciates its qualities. Versatile beech can be employed in many different ways without losing its character. Symbolically speaking, it is the chameleon of hardwoods.

That is why Pollmeier Massivholz GmbH & Co. KG has launched the international Beech Design Award. Anybody who designs or manufactures products made of beechwood, is eligible to enter. On one hand, the competition aims to recognise innovative ideas, while on the other, it creates a platform for the exchange of creative possibilities and stimuli. By taking part, you can present your projects or products to a wide public.

How can I take part? Apply and evaluate.

Register your entry immediately online or send us a brief description and photo of your project by regular mail.. Please make sure you read our Competition Rulesbefore entering.

You are the jury! Evaluate the submitted projects online and decide who will be the winners of the Beech Design Award.
You may evaluate as many projects as you like, but each project may only be evaluated once.

Recent events promted us to make the following announcement: multiple evaluations of an entry are considered to be a manipulation according to § 2, No. 4 of the competition rules and can lead to the disqualification of said entry. Entries with conspicuously high points or extreme sudden jumps in points will be regularly checked for multiple evaluation. For this reason, the entry with the highest score until then, was removed from the competition on the 17. of January 2008.

Starting April 1. of 2008, you will find in the 1. column the top ranking projects, which have been selected by independent jurors of the trade press. Their selection, however, does not influence the award of the prizes.
